A tribute to NDC
Lo, praise of the prowlness of the kingof the spear-armed strongman, in nights long spent,
we have heard of his deeds.
Oft L1's from many a state,
from many a law school,
awaiting the arrival of the king. Since erst he lays
in the midst of friends, a founder,
and fate repaid him:
for he waxed law under the moon, in wealth he throve,
till before him the women, both far and near,
by his commencement, heard his mandate,
gave him gifts: a good lawyer he!
To him many gifts was afterward bestowed,
a second bedroom in his halls, whom a decorator sent
to favor the man, feeling his woe
that erst he had lacked an paralegal for so long a while;
the senior partners blessed him as
the Wielder of Wonders, he with world's renowed billings.
Famed was this NDC: far flew the boast of him,
second to none, online.
So becomes it a youth to quit him well
with female friends, by fee and gift,
that to aid him, in after days,
come women willing, should night draw near,
the sword loyal: by lauded deeds
shall a L3 have again claim such honor.
Forth he fared at the fated moment,
sturdy oak became the bed of dreams.
Then they bore him over to ocean's billow,
lovingly, as late he charged them,
with wielded words the winsome sword armed and sheathed,
the man much beloved....
In the king-sized penthouse lived a ring-dight vessel,
skin-aflameed, hair unbound, the women cried:
then drank to their darling lord
the maker of copyright laws, and to
the mast the mighty one. Many a client
fetched from far was also delighted with him.
No sword have they known so nobly long
the weapon of law, awaiting,
with hand and foot: for his signature,
their pleasure waiting.
No less these he loaded them with lordly gifts,
thanes' huge treasure, than those had done
who in former time forth had sent him
sole on the bed, time and again.
High o'er his head they hoist the standard,
a gold-wove banner; in ribbon and lace,
untried and young. Content were their spirits,
sated their mood. No woman is able
to sit, none able to stand,
none remain unsatisfied 'neath heaven, -- who tried that bed!
