A Dream Deferred

What happens to a shopping trip deferred?

Does your wardrobe dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?

Or bloom like a flower--
when you run to the nearest Versace store?

Does it sufficate you like buying last month's outdated shoes?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet as you wait for fall/winter's new arrivals?

Maybe it just builds
like a heavy load.

Or does your closet explode? (And you promptly move to a bigger house?)

I suppose it's a bad indication/state of affairs that my room now resembles an explosion of an entire store (or three) and despite it, I still want to preview the winter collections (read: buy everything in sight)...
